Design of the StartUp - Tech - This Local Piggy

The Design of the Startup series was videoed and provides a unique first-hand account from New Zealand design companies and their experiences working with StartUps.

In the quest to define value, designers and StartUps often find themselves asking the same question: What problem are we solving?

This shared understanding makes sense – design thinking and doing are actually baked into the DNA of StartUps.

Chloe Fong, This Local Piggy

The limitations and potential of supermarkets and food delivery services were firmly placed on the spotlight during the first few weeks of the pandemic. It was during this time of flux that passionate foodie Chloe Fong launched a hyper-local delivery service that allows customers to purchase fresh produce from many different shops and have it delivered all at once. Besides the obvious social distance/lockdown implications, the idea was firmly based on the economic and well-being impacts of hyper locality, community building and down-to-basics neighbourliness.
In this video Chloe shares her story, the challenges encountered and lessons learned.
